With temperatures on the cooler side, it’s time to scope out the best spots for comfort food, which for us, definitely includes ramen. And when it comes to extra hearty bowls of noodles, Birria Ramen (goat or beef stew) – or “Birriamen” – takes the cake.

If you’re struggling to imagine the crossroads between Mexican and Japanese cuisine, imagine all the joys of a spicy, meat-heavy soup, but with the added fun of tacos.

You can try the fusion dish yourself at any of La Taqueria’s locations across Vancouver, complete with a birria taco for dipping. Prepare your taste buds for handmade corn and rice noodles, a rich brisket broth, a soft-boiled egg, and of course, plenty of herbs and spices on top.

If you want to try Birria Ramen out, check out the La Taqueria website to find your closest location. If you need us, that’s where we’ll be!

And if you enjoy La Taqueria and want to check out another spot in Vancouver with the dish on the menu, hit up Don Oso’s.
