We’ve got another summer activity to add to your bucket list, Toronto! It’s Movies Under the Stars at Downsview Park. Is there anything better than a warm summer night, watching an awesome flick from the comfort (and safety!) of your own car? We don’t think so. Which is why we’re so darn pumped this annual event will be back this season.

That’s right! For the fifth year in a row, you can head on over to Downsview Park to catch a screening under the stars. You may know the event as its former name, Friday Night Lights. In previous years, the outdoor screenings have been done picnic-style, with folks all gathered on the grass. But thanks to COVID-19, it was transformed into a drive-in last year.

So, what can you expect from Movies Under the Stars? We’re here to tell ya! The month-long lineup includes stellar movies like The Croods: A New Age (2020), Onward (2020), Back to the Future (1985), and Raya and the Last Dragon (2021). The fifth and final film of the lineup is being presented by the City of Toronto and Reelworld Film Festival on July 25th. That title will be announced at a later date.

Of course, like any event this summer, there will be some important COVID-19 guidelines to follow. Tickets are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot as early as you can. You’ll have to remain in your vehicle for the duration of the screening, except to use the on-site washrooms. If you do leave your vehicle you’ll need to wear your mask whenever physical distancing is not possible.

So, get online and reserve your spot! You can even win free tickets to the first film screening by commenting on a social media post slated to drop June 21st. Find more details on that by following Downsview Park on Instagram.
