It’s safe to say that you won’t find anything else quite like this an hour outside of downtown Toronto. This cabin is nestled among the trees on a 15-acre lot and faces a private turquoise blue pond, and you don’t have to travel very far outside of the city to enjoy the secluded escape that it offers.
This Airbnb is called Cabin on the 9 and it even has its own Instagram, filled with photos of people soaking up the gorgeous surroundings near Orangeville, Hockley Valley.
It’s described as the “perfect couples weekend retreat,” and the charming cabin is just big enough for you and your S/O to relax comfortably in front of the wood-burning stove and sleep under the A-frame roof on the queen-size bed with views of the water.
The cabin has a kitchenette and compost toilet, but you’ll also have access to the main house for use of the kitchen, gym, and private washroom. The host says that cooking in the kitchen is not permitted for the time being, but you’ll still be able to make use of the fridge and retrieve dishes and water.

While this gorgeous blue pond is best enjoyed in the summer months, this Airbnb is a lovely place to stay in the winter too. Snowshoes and hockey sticks are provided for you to make the most of the outdoors, and you can make a campfire to stay toasty under the stars.
If that’s not enough to convince you, this property has gotten hundreds of incredible reviews from people who say that it’s just as stunning as it looks in the pictures.
Cabin on the 9 is mostly booked solid this fall, but there are a surprising number of open dates in November, so you’ll want to snag them up quick. If you miss your chance, there’s still a ton of availability in December and into 2022. To find out more, check it out on Airbnb.
