We have to admit, we can totally see the allure of houseboats. After all, there is something pretty dang cool about being able to live on the water. That being said, it’s pretty likely that none of us will be buying houseboats soon so might as well get the next best thing. Floating glamping on Clayoquot Sound.

Sounds a little crazy right? Well, it’s actually really cool. The Lagoon Float Camp is a boat access-only camping spot just a short trip from Tofino. The camp is complete with a 14′ canvas bell tent, a propane heater for sleeping & lounging, and even a  modern outbuilding with a wood-fired sauna. You’ll also find a fully equipped kitchen & bath, as well as plenty of deck space.

The camp can fit up to 4 guests and comes stocked with sheets and kitchen basics like salt & pepper as well as oil. That being said, you’ll probably want to bring your own analog entertainment.

Photo via AirbnbWe have to say, this spot is pretty much the perfect place to unplug. The floating camp is off the grid and the bay in which it’s moored is surrounded entirely by old-growth forest, calm inlet waters, and marine & birdlife. You can relax in the untouched natural setting or head out on an adventure in the bay by rowboat. If you’re really feeling it you can hike nearby trails and hit the sauna at the end of your day.
