Washington state just made being vaccinated even sweeter. Because businesses operating with liquor licenses in our state are now allowed to offer one free drink to customers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Of course, you have to be able to prove it but that is just one more reason to get your vax folks!

This incentive is great for those of you that still haven’t gotten vaccinated and it’s also great for businesses. Because while things may be looking up in terms of reopening, restaurants, and bars still have a long road to recovery. So this is one more way to get people inside businesses and spending some cash.

Now restaurants and bars will be able to choose whether or not they participate in this incentive. And there are some rules including providing proof of vaccination to your server (first or second vaccination) between May 15th and June 30th, 2021. And to keep things fair, you are limited to one free drink but if you’re getting one free you might as well buy one to support the restaurant. Plus, one drink usually equals two or three.

When it comes to rules for the restaurants, they will have to pay for providing the free drinks or use a non-industry member sponsor. Restaurants and bars will be able to offer this incentive until June 30th so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for local spots offering free drinks to vaccinated folks.
