These last few weeks have been pretty exciting for Alberta. Not only have gyms, restaurants and entertainment venues begun to open up, but the province has also announced the launch of the COVID- 19 ‘Open For Summer Lottery,’ a brand new incentive for getting immunized, where three lucky people will win $1 million just for getting their shot.

Now, only days after reporting the grand prize, the government has added another $1 million dollar jackpot, as well as a variety of additional rewards, all of which will take your summer to new heights – and we mean that quite literally!

This August, if you aren’t cashing a cheque, you could still be among 40 people who will be whisked away for a week-long stay in an all-inclusive luxury resort abroad.

Courtesy of WestJet and Air Canada, travel packages will be rewarded to a select group (18+) who have registered online by 11:59 pm on August 24th and have received both doses of a valid vaccine.

“Vaccinations are our way out of this pandemic. With partners like WestJet and Air Canada, we’re ready to kick-start tourism in Alberta and start welcoming travellers from around the globe. As we begin to open our doors and welcome visitors back to explore the beauty and wonder of Alberta, our tourism industry will be a key part of our economic rebound,” said Doug Schweitzer, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation in a press release.
