Well folks, early work on Vancouver’s ambitious new Broadway Subway Project has begun, and with it a whole host of designs for the stations. What’s more, the province wants your feedback! For the next week or so, you can have your say on the new designs and the project. Here’s a little more info on this virtual open house.

After years of planning, this multi-million dollar project has received support from the local, provincial and national government. Although it’s brand new, it will still be connected to the Millenium Line, and so will be operated by TransLink as well. If all goes according to plan, it will be up and running by 2025. Fingers crossed, hey?

The project will stretch some 5.7 kilometres, from VCC-Clark Station to a brand new terminus station on Arbutus Street. In addition to the line itself, there will be 5 brand new stations built over the next few years. These are:

  • Great Northern Way-Emily Carr Station
  • Mount Pleasant Station
  • South Granville Station
  • Oak-VGH
  • Arbutus Station

In addition to these brand new stations, the Broadway-City Hall station will also see a major expansion. People are invited to check out the full proposal on these new stations (and their designs) and provide feedback to the city!

Personally, we like ’em! But luckily, we’re not the only ones with a say. To check out the proposal in full and participate in the virtual open house, just click here!
