You can buy a vase made by Seth Rogen at the Vancouver Art Gallery auction

We don’t wanna say that we called it, but we pretty much called it. The Vancouver Art Gallery previewed its first-ever online auction today, and wouldn’t you know it, Seth Rogen tossed a vase of his in there! Why are we feeling so smug? Well, we’re going to tell you, right now.

Back in January, we actually did a little bit of a deep dive into Seth Rogen, the ceramics artist. And in that article, we mentioned that he’s shown some real promise as an artist, and that it’s only a matter of time before he gets some recognition. To be fair, we suggested an exhibition somewhere, but we think being included in the VAG’s Art Auction, alongside some truly special names, is close enough to that.

Rogen donated a vase, featuring some bulbous additions in a shocking red colour. To be honest, the 8″ tall vase is up there with some of his best works, at least the ones we’ve seen. Now, the only problem we’ve got is that there’s no ‘reserve’ price publicly listed, which means what this thing will actually sell for is still up in the air.

And dang it, it’s Friday, so we’re going to double down and try to name a price. Let’s see- famous actor and a Vancouver icon, who has proven to be a hot commodity in the ceramics world, and this is his first major piece for sale. We’re going to slap a conservative estimate of around $20,000-$25,000. But, only time will tell!
