Yellowjackets is finally hitting our screens once again this winter, and we couldn’t be more excited for the return to ‘the wilderness.’ And before it does, the British Columbia-filmed series just dropped a new teaser trailer you can check out, and it hints at more creepy rituals, greater stakes, and deadly consequences…

New & returning Yellowjackets characters

The season 3 cast includes the adult leads (Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Tawny Cypress) and their teenage counterparts (Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Liv Hewson, Courtney Eaton, Sophie Thatcher, and Jasmin Savoy Brown), as well as Elijah Wood, Lauren Ambrose, and Simone Kessell returning from season 2.

While her exact role has not yet been revealed on IMDb, actress and producer Hilary Swank appears to have joined the cast for season 3 – surprising fans at the end of the teaser with a bloody appearance…

Yellowjackets Season 3 teaser

The teaser starts off with the teenage cast chasing after Mari (Alexa Barajas) through the forest – which very well may be in BC.

“Once upon a time, a bunch of teenage girls got stranded in the wilderness, and they went completely nuts,” narrates Shauna (Sophie Nélisse).

Scenes of the teenage Yellowjackets performing cannibalistic rituals are contrasted with the adult versions of the survivors, whose dark secrets are on the cusp of being revealed.

“The only people who know about this are us, or dead,” says Van (Lauren Ambrose).

“The past will come back to hunt you.”

Another possible BC location featured in the teaser is Camp Howdy in Belcarra, where many of the scenes involving Lottie’s cult were filmed last season. At 1:02 of the teaser trailer, Nélisse is seen immersed in a lake surrounded by lush, snowcapped mountains. So you never know!
