It’s an open secret that Vancouver has got one of the best plant-based scenes in Canada, and this new opening should only help our status! Nightshade, a brand new vegetarian and vegan restaurant, has officially opened in Yaletown.

Having opened late December, Nightshade is the first Vancouver venture from the Sattva Hospitality Group, which runs a couple of notable vegetarian restaurants in both Calgary and Banff. But, this spot has a noticeably different approach.

Using the skills of Head Chef Chanthy Yen (who has worked in spots like The Mackenzie Room and Montreal’s acclaimed Parlement), Nightshade has everything from Cambodian pumpkin soup to sushi rolls and even some pasta dishes. So, whether you’re feeling a light lunch or a seriously filling dinner out, you’ll be sure to find something that fits your appetite.

Alongside the food menu, the restaurant is also offering a carefully created selection of cocktails for visitors. These range from Tiki-inspired drinks to non-alcoholic options, so once again, it’s got the range for a variety of desires. Did we just find a new spot for when none of our friends know what they’re hungry for? We sure think so.

The restaurant is now open daily, so make sure to check it out the next time you’re in Yaletown!
