A 36 course Wu Tang themed dinner is coming to Seattle this fall

Seattle has seen all sorts of themed dinners and pop ups. From seasonal eats to Disney classics, it feels safe to say we’ve seen almost everything. Until now because a Wu Tang themed dinner will be rocking Seattle this fall.

The pop up comes from Syd Suntha, the owner of popular Sri Lankan food cart Kottu and also Ballyhoo Hot Sauce. And while his culinary interests and experience are clear you might be wondering why Wu Tang? The answer is simple, Suntha is creating the event because he wants to “put hundreds of Wu Fans in the same room to celebrate their music, influence, and culture.”

What’s more, Suntha worked on this dinner concept for most of the pandemic and wasn’t sure if it would come to fruition. However, it very much so has and later this fall when the dinner happens, guests will be able to enjoy “18 courses of food by 9 chefs, 9 beverage pairings, and 9 Wu-Tang influenced experiences.” From what we know so far, it’s certainly going to be an experience.

As there are so many details to plan and organize, Suntha has been quite busy. That being said, he was able to reveal to Curiocity some possible menu items like “Killa Beez” – Honey Stung Pork Belly and “Shaolin Slum” – Chicken Fried Congee. We also got to see a peek of previous cocktails crafted by @friendlygomez with drinks like “Ghost-Trace Killah” – buffalo trace bourbon, maple, lemon, mint and egg white as well as “Inspectah Daiq-uiri” – rum blend, maple/honey syrup and lime.

Once again, exact details are still up in the air but the dinner will take place on a Sunday in either September or October. You can get on the waitlist for tickets at 36courses.com and learn more on Suntha’s Instagram.
