What better way to kick off the weekend, than with some seriously saucy news? We hope you’re hungry Calgary because Dickey’s – the largest BBQ concept in the world has announced that they’re opening a location right here in cowtown.
With over 550 locations all over the U.S. and the world, this popular meat-loving joint recently opened its first Alberta Location in Edmonton – but that was just the beginning.
Best known for serving Texas-style brisket, wings, ribs, pulled pork and sandwiches with a selection of sides like waffle fries, coleslaw, and baked beans – Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is an American staple.

In fact, they’re so well-liked, that they plan on opening 11 more restaurants over the next 10 years – just in Calgary alone.
“It’s always exciting to debut our Legit. Texas. Barbecue.™ in a new community, but it’s particularly exciting when our brand crosses borders,” said Jim Perkins, the Executive Vice President of International Sales and Support in a press release.
“We look forward to introducing our tastes of Texas to many more Canadians across the country.”

While they haven’t announced where they plan on opening this location within the city, it should only be a matter of time until we get an update.
As announced in the press release, they hope to be open by the end of fall 2022.
Until then, we’ll keep our eyes on this one!
It’s going to be a delicious season.
