Ready for the holidays? There’s a charming town just a short drive northwest from Toronto and it is a lovely winter destination. Here’s what to know about Erin, Ontario.
The lesser-known town is home to rolling country hills, rivers and cute shops.
“Lush rolling countryside, meandering rivers, small settlement areas, and quaint village settings is what you will encounter in the Town of Erin,” shares the township.
The bustling downtown is described as a “medley of adorable shops and lovingly preserved buildings,” with beautiful trails and golf courses, too.
The history of this township dates way back to the 1820s, when the first settler, a Pennsylvania native named Nathaniel Roszel, first arrived, according to the town.
The town’s old-world feel has been preserved to this day, and while you’re wandering through, you’ll be transported back to simpler times.
In any season, the town of Erin is a delight but during the holidays, it transforms into a winter wonderland.
The annual Window Wonderland hosted by the Chamber of Commerce returns to Erin this year. All are welcome to join the Annual Tree Lighting hosted in McMillan Park on November 15th, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
The Window Wonderland reveal will follow at 6:30 PM, all along Main Street.
“There will be Santa visits, hot drinks, holiday music, a Food Court at the MSN Automotive Parking Lot, pony rides and much more,” shares the town.
This lovely town is a worthwhile stop on your journey through southern Ontario’s countryside, especially for the holidays.
