Vancouver is off to a pretty delicious start to the year, if you ask us. There are a ton of new restaurants, bars, and cafes to check out in and around the city, and now we’ve got another exciting opening to add to the mix. Enter Wildlight Kitchen + Bar, a new West Coast-inspired brasserie bringing all-day dishes, weekend brunch, and handcrafted cocktails to a casual dining space. The cherry on top? The new spot is set to offer a late-night happy hour in addition to daily happy hour specials.

Chef Warren Chow will lead the culinary team, drawing from his training in traditional French cuisine, use of modern techniques,  and passion for local flavours.

Guests can expect to enjoy everything from unique charcuterie boards with salmon pastrami and Salt Spring Island mussels, to seared Hokkaido scallops with truffle risotto.

“There is something so special about the freshness of the air, the quality of the light, and the rugged abundance here on the West Coast,” said Chow. “Wildlight is about harmoniously bringing together the land, sea and sky, and showcasing nature’s bounty.”

Chef Chow’s dishes focus on sustainable regional and seasonal ingredients, including produce from the UBC Farm, according to a release. And to drink, diners can enjoy beautifully crafted cocktails with ingredients from local producers, as well as an extensive selection of BC wines.

While details on their weekend brunch and happy hour specials are not yet available, we’ll definitely keep our eye on their socials. Wildlight will open its doors in West Point Grey in February of this year, so stay tuned!

We’ll see you there, Vancouver.
