You come to the zoo for the animals, but now imagine them immortalized as glowing works of art! The WildLanterns experience is unlike any other light display in Seattle, and you can see it for yourself starting next month.

WildLanterns at Woodland Park Zoo is easily one of the most magical immersive art experiences in the city. Walk among large sculptural lanterns depicting animals, creatures, and whimsical landscapes from around the globe.

A Magical Experience

WildLanterns at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle kicks off on Friday, November 15th, this year.

Explore a Mystical Forest where tree fairies and unicorns glimmer brightly, or take a stroll on a Bright Desert Highway to see desert flora and fauna. There’s also the Marvelous Mammals display where Northwest animals are transformed into lanterns along with a Birds of Paradise zone and Under the Jungle Canopy. And that’s only a fraction of what you’ll see!

There will also be live traditional Chinese art performances at the PACCAR Auditorium. Experience nightly performances of Lion Dance, Face Changing, Umbrella Juggling, and Chair Balancing among others.

Themed Nights

On December 5th and January 2nd, you can take part in the inaugural 21+ Night Owl evenings at WildLanterns. Enjoy a curated 21+ experience with holiday cocktails and themed lounges as you wander through the fantastical displays.

This year, WildLanterns will also be offering Low Sensory Nights on November 20th, December 11th, and January 9th. This program is designed to foster an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all.

Tickets are on sale now, with prices fluctuating depending on weekdays versus weekends and peak times. Don’t forget that if you are a Woodland Park Zoo member you get 20% off admission!

Kick off the holiday season with one of the most unique light displays in Seattle. You might still be in the city, but it’ll feel like an entirely different world.
