Located right in the Ottawa region of Orléans, Petrie Island is known for its two stunning beaches. These summer destinations are popular during the season, more so because of their pristine white sand and calm waters.

“Many others come to take in the white sand beaches, the Caribbean vibe, and bask in the restorative sunshine,” shares the Heart of Orléans BIA.

“Still others come for canoeing, kayaking, and observing wildlife, ranging from adorable turtles and magnificent birds to wildflowers.”

Its Main Beach spans across the Ottawa River, and the East Beach is more sheltered in a Bay, according to the Swim Guide.

After your beach day, enjoy a lovely picnic and even play a game of volleyball with its net rentals.

There’s lots to see and do in the area, especially an array of restaurants worth enjoying.
