The world might only now be realizing that Whistler is more than one of the world’s best ski resorts. However, Vancouverites have known it all along that visiting Whistler in the summer is just as exciting. This beautiful mountain town is setting temps soaring this summer with the Whistler Summer Concert Series.
Heck yes! The town is bringing back “music to the mountains” with its outdoor summer concert series. And along come a slew of large-scale live performances that will brighten up your summer. Expect classical music, funk instrumental, indie pop, chilled-out beats, R&B, rock bands, live DJ and more taking over the Whistler Olympic Plaza.
The best part? All concerts in the series are free to attend. Meaning you don’t just get to go to the most beautiful places in BC, you also get to enjoy free entertainment while you’re there.
The Whistler Summer Concert Series takes place Thursdays and Fridays throughout July and August. And each evening’s programming starts at 6:30 PM with a live DJ set before the headlining performers take to the stage at 7:30 PM. While the opening DJ sets will get your groove on, the concert headliners will take your summer evenings to a whole new high with their incredible performances.
Headliners include the likes of Juno Award winner, William Prince, Canadian music legends Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, Lazy Syrup Orchestra with Ashleigh Ball, Juno Award-winning alternative band Dear Rouge and many more.
Hit up your favourite local restaurant for an early meal or grab takeout to enjoy picnic style. Grab some friends as the sun starts to set and let the music fill the warm evening mountain air. That’s what Whistler in summer feels like!
They even have free and secure bike parking. So, feel free to pedal along the Valley Trail to the event.
