Lights, camera, action! Toronto is a lively city with lots to see – the perfect backdrop for film sets. Well-known productions such as the shows “Suits” and “Reacher” were filmed in the city and the list continues to grow. The Apprentice
Shooting the streets of Toronto is “The Apprentice,” an upcoming biographical film examining Donald Trump’s career as a real estate businessman in New York in the 1970s and 80s. Sebastian Stan plays Trump in the film, and some Torontonians have spotted the actor sporting a Donald Trump-style wig and costume during production!
When: Filming November 2023 – January 2024
Murdoch Mysteries 17
Murdoch Mysteries is a Canadian classic. This detective series is on its 17th season and has already begun filming, scheduled to wrap up in February of this year.
When: Filming May 2023 – February 2024
Strange New Worlds 3
The third season of the TV series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” follows Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the starship Enterprise as they explore new worlds and carry out missions during the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series. Filming for this popular series became in December and will run all the way until July, 2024.
When: Filming December 2023 – May 2024
The Madness
If you love a good thriller then look out for this mini series coming to Netflix. “The Madness” is being filmed in Toronto and is described by Netflix as a series about a man named Muncie Daniels who “must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods. As the walls close in, Muncie strives to reconnect with his estranged family – and his lost ideals – in order to survive.” If you see film set in the city with some intense action, it could be this one!
When: Filming March 2023 – April 2024
What We Do in the Shadows
This series filming in Toronto may sound spooky, but don’t worry, it’s in the style of a “mockumentary.” This is the series 6th season, giving viewers a look into the lives of four vampires who’ve lived together for hundreds of years in Staten Island.
When: Janauray 2024 – June 2024
Cruel Intentions Season 1
Cruel Intentions is a TV adaptation of the romance thriller movie from 1999. The series will run on Amazon Prime, with filming already underway and set to go until April of this year.
When: May 2023 – April 2024
