From food to legroom, we all prioritize our travel must-haves a little differently, but we’d be willing to bet everyone’s number one is probably the same. Luckily, Canada’s actually home to one of the best in the biz when it comes to seatbelts and lifevests. According to a new ranking, Calgary-based WestJet is among the top 10 safest low-cost airlines in the world.

Taking everything from COVID protocols and fleet age to incidents and crash records into account, AirlineRatings.com concluded that, while it wasn’t number one, WestJet was definitely one to beat.
