One of Ontario’s most fascinating historical destination is soon transforming into a winter wonderland. For two weekends in December, get ready to step into Christmas in the Woods.

Held at the Westfield Heritage Village, Christmas in the Woods will take place on Sundays, December 10th and 17th, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

“Step into a winter wonderland filled with swags, greenery, and charming decorations. From Christmas baking to carol singing, and a magical model train diorama – there’s joy for everyone,” states the event.

“Bundle up and enjoy outdoor adventures with wagon rides, free popcorn, scavenger hunts, and a stroll through our winter forest.”

If you’re worried about the cold, you can warm up by the crackling fire with delightful old-fashioned Christmas treats!

You can also explore the General Store and Gift Shop, or swing by the Ironwood for delicious light refreshments!

If you’ve never heard of it, Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area is both a living history museum and a conservation area.

“As one of Ontario’s most fascinating historical destinations, it boasts a stunning collection of over 35 historical buildings that have been restored to capture early Canadian culture and is nestled against the backdrop of 204 hectares of conservation land featuring woodlands meadows and trails,” it states.

According to their website, the historical buildings are not open on a daily basis, but visitors may walk through the Village, and enjoy hikes throughout the week.

So this is definitely a chance to check it out, in all its winter glory! Be sure to reserve in advance, as it is a popular event.
