Washington State Ferries bringing beer, popcorn & more back this month

Washington State Ferries are a whole experience. From driving or walking on to exploring the upper deck to of course the ferry food. But it’s now been a long few years without the goodness of ferry cafeteria food until now because it’s coming back!

According to The Seattle Times, all of the ferries cafeterias run by Sodexo Live are set to open this month. Exactly when is unclear but if you are planning a trip to the islands this April you might just be able to get your hands on some eats. However, the roll out of the cafeterias with be gradual.

That means five boats on four routes will have service including Anacortes, Bainbridge, Bremerton and Edmonds. But for Seattle to Bainbridge folks, just one of the two boats will open its galley. So that means you will have a 50% chance of snagging eats. Hopefully if things roll out smoothly we can all return to enjoy a cup of chowder on our fave scenic ferry routes.

In the meantime you can expect to enjoy popcorn and brews while the full service of the cafeterias rolls out. Hey, at least it’s something right? Enjoy folks!
