From Monday, August 21st to Sunday, August 27th, the Washington State International Kite Festival transforms Long Beach’s skies into a sea of color. Expect high-flying action and eye-catching choreographed movement from some of the best kite fliers in the world.

Some of the kite events you can watch include kite trains and arches, kite battles, group competitions, kite ballet, lighted night flights, and a memorial flight.

Besides flyers, you’ll find designers, builders, and manufacturers from all around the world. The event draws about 150,000 people annually making it the perfect time to celebrate with other kite and outdoor enthusiasts.

During the festival, visitors will also find local food and goods vendors, kite vendors, and a music festival in town. There’s also a beer garden, and tent with presentations from local artists and craftspeople, as well family friendly activities.
