New ranking alert Washingtonians! The PNW is full of opportunities to get outdoors. between our amazing hikes, caves, swimming holes and even just places to watch the sunset, theres much to do. Which is why it makes sense that our Washington just ranked as one of the most active states in the nation.

The new ranking is from Fitness Volt. They took a look at key factors like number of gyms and health services per capita as well as access to opportunities to move your body. That alone puts Washington in a great standing. So here’s a look at the top 10 most fit states in the nation.

For a little more perspective on our state, we have six gyms per 100,000 people, 12 health clubs per 100,000 people, 18% physical inactivity prevalence, and 86% access to exercise opportunities. Seems pretty good right? We’d say so although seeing Minnesota in first place is a little surprising.
