Alberta comes to life in the winter and while it can get pretty chilly, there’s no better time to get out and about! Luckily, from skiing and snowboarding to tobogganing and hiking, there is a ton to see and do in and around the province, but for those in Edmonton, skating the Victoria Park IceWay is a must!

Located along the North Saskatchewan River, Victoria Park is a snowy-day hotspot perfect for families, groups of friends and lovebirds looking for some magic.

Once temperatures drop, not only can visitors take a lap around the 400-metre Olympic-sized oval, but they can also hit the IceWay, an enchanting trail lit by vibrant colours and surrounded by trees.

Despite its inner city address, the Victoria Park IceWay feels like it’s miles away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and at night is unlike anything in the area.

The very best part?

Skating here is FREE and it’s open to the public between 10 am and 10 pm daily.

Rentals are not available on sight but there are bathrooms, lockers and a changing room for those who need it!

Interested? Check it out and enjoy!

You’re in for an incredible time!
