Welcome to the start of patio season, folks! To kick things off this year, we decided to showcase some of the best patios in Vancouver to check out this spring. To us, that means a mix of all-weather options, delicious food, and most importantly, some great views.

Here are 10 patios to eat at in Vancouver this spring.

The Roof at Black+Blue

The newly redesigned rooftop patio at Black+Blue has shot up to the top of our must-visit patios this spring. They decided to do away with the old dark and moody vibe. Instead, The Roof now features an airy, plant-filled space with an updated food and drink menu to match.

The Keefer Yard

Originally started as a pop-up patio, the Keefer Yard now boasts one of the most interesting draws in the city- mini-putt. Sadly they’re not allowed to offer it right now, but you can still swing by for some amazing cocktails and snacks. When mini-putt does open, hoo boy, we’re there.

Banter Room

The Banter Room is easily one of the top patios in Yaletown, which puts it in the running for best in the city. While not waterfront, you’ve got some great decor and a menu to match. It’s the perfect choice for a mid-afternoon break if you find yourself downtown.

Where: 1039 Mainland Street

CRAFT English Bay

Here’s another new patio to check out! The new CRAFT Beer Market in English actually opened only a few days ago. And, true to the area, they’ve got an amazing second-floor patio that offers great views of the beach and ocean. Pair that with a huge beer list, and this will be great for a weekend pint.

Where: 1795 Beach Avenue

Ancora Ambleside

Waterfront dining and delicious Peruvian Japanese fusion make both of the Ancora locations a no-brainer. But, we will say that Ambleside is the perfect way to cap off a day exploring the North Shore. If you feel like treating yourself this spring, this is a great option.

Where: 1351 Bellevue Avenue

Tap and Barrel – Olympic Village

A sprawling waterfront patio right beside the walking path in Vancouver Olympic Village offers great views across the water. These guys are known for their great patios, so when in doubt, head to one of their locations.

Where: 1 Athletes Way

Livia

Livia has easily become one of our favourite spots in the city for all-day fare. Swing by in the morning for a coffee and a delicious pastry, or try one of their incredible pasta dinners. Plus, the Commercial Drive location means you’ll have great people watching, without feeling too rushed.

Anh and Chi

We’re big fans of this amazing Vietnamese spot on Main Street. Instead of grabbing takeout 100% of the time, hang out with a delicious bowl of pho on their heated patio. Or hey, if it’s nicer out, you can’t go wrong with a bottle of wine and a few appetizers.

Where: 3388 Main Street

The Boathouse Kitsilano

It’s hard to beat The Boathouse in Kits for sweeping views of the city’s best. Plus, the perch above the beach is great for people watching on warmer days this spring. But rain or shine, this spot offers a fantastic patio experience.

Where: 1305 Arbutus Street

The Sandbar

Of course, we had to include this iconic Granville Island spot. Because who doesn’t want to enjoy a delicious dinner while overlooking the water and city? Cap off a weekend trip to the public market with some fresh oceanfront oysters. That’s our plan.

Where: 1535 Johnston Street

And that’s our roundup of some great patios to check out around Vancouver this spring! We hope that you can get out there and enjoy them, folks.
