Happy Sunday, friends! How excited are you to have Monday off? Hopefully extremely excited, especially because you’ve got the first week of July to look forward to. Here’s everything we think you should get up to this week!

Time for another round of 8 things to do this week in Vancouver.

Have a ball on Canada Day

Confused about what to do this Canada Day? We created a pretty solid list of activities for you to check out. From parties to fireworks, there’s no shortage of Canada Day festivities going on in Vancouver.

Clueless movie screening

The first movie to be screened for the Downtown outdoor movies this summer is Clueless. It’s a cult classic, and is sure to put you in a good mood for the rest of the week!

Where: Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby St

Greek Summerfest

A huge event going down on Boundary Road in East Van. Swing by for delicious Greek fare, live music and family-friendly activities. Running for 10 days, this one is easy to stop in at if you want to.

When: Starts Thursday, July 4
Where: Boundary Road

Take a trip to The Office

Figuratively, though. The second round of The Office trivia is this week. Based on our limited experience on Tinder, this should be one of the easiest first dates to propose in the history of the app.

When: Thursday, July 4
Where: The Pint, 455 Abbott St
Tickets: $10.99 online, $15 at the door

Share your love of Star Wars

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will be doing a live concert for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back this week. Think that the original trilogy is the only one worth discussing? This event is right up your alley.

When: Showings Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5
Where: Orpheum Theatre, 601 Smithe St
Tickets: Start at $53

Celebrate diversity at the Indian Summer Festival

Running at the same time as Greek Summerfest, this 10-day festival focuses on diverse artists and events. Featuring novelists, stand-up comedians, musicians and storytellers, you’ll be hard-pressed to not find anything up your alley.

When: Starts Thursday, July 4
Where: Venues around Vancouver

FVDED in the Park

A massive, 2-day long event going on in Surrey. FVDED focuses on EDM, hip hop and RnB. If that’s up your alley at all, then this is a can’t-miss festival! We have to admit, it would be nice to see Khalid live in concert. Also French Montana.

When: Starts Friday, July 5
Where: Holland Park, 13428 Old Yale Rd, Surrey

Culture up at the Contemporary Art Gallery

The first solo exhibition of the artist Maryam Jafri. We would try and distill the rationale for the exhibition but we can’t in two sentences. Looks cool, though, and it’s free to check out!

When: Opens Friday, July 5
Where: Contemporary Art Gallery, 555 Nelson St

And there it is! Everything we think you should get up to this week in Vancouver. Of course, if you wanted to just soak up summer with a picnic or a trip to a public pool then we’ve got no problems there, either.
