First day of spring: Here’s what Vancouver’s weather looks like this week

Well, Vancouver, we officially made it to spring! Gone are the winter blues and early sunsets, and in their place, the beginning of a beautiful cherry blossom season. And while seasonal allergies are on the rise, we think the Vancouver weather forecast for this week will soften their blow.

According to The Weather Network’s current 14-day forecast, Vancouver has plenty to look forward to. Mild temperatures, periods of sun and clouds, and a couple of spring showers for good measure.

Plus, a quick look at the blossom map reveals that dozens of new cherry blossoms are blooming across the city this week – which is reason enough to get outside and enjoy the start of the season.

In terms of temps, a high of 12°C is expected this Tuesday, March 21st. After a brief cooldown to 7°C, temperatures will jump back up to 9°C starting Monday, March 27th.

The only day with full-on rain this week is Thursday, March 23rd, with a forecasted 10 mm of rainfall. Next week, however, the Vancouver weather forecast trades sun for consistent “light rain” and “cloudy with showers,” so don’t pack away the rain gear just yet.

While TWN’s full report forecasts a “slower than typical start to spring” this year, British Columbians can look forward to an extended ski season and hopefully a later start to wildfire season.

So if you’re looking to enjoy some rain-free days in Vancouver, this week is the ideal time to do it. The rest of the month & early April is shaping up to be wetter than usual, so soak in the sunshine while you can!
