Niagara Falls will not only be home to one of the world’s largest waterfalls, but it will also welcome a new university to the area. The University of Niagara Falls Canada will welcome new students in the near future and here’s what you can expect.
Following the Government of Ontario approval, the new university will provide a number of programs and the Niagara Region — and all of Ontario — with major economic and employment benefits, according to the release.
“This is a massive windfall for the City of Niagara Falls,” said Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati.
“If there was one thing on my bucket list that we had still yet to do in a big way in our community, it was this. It has been a long road behind the scenes, with many challenges, but today makes it all worthwhile.”
If there was one thing in my bucket list for our city, it was this. Based on “labour market needs of the region and local employers”, the University of Niagara Falls Canada will offer five programs:
- Honours Bachelor of Science – Biomedical Sciences.
- Honours Bachelor of Business Administration – Majors in Digital Economy and Digital Marketing.
- Master of Data Analytics – Specializations in Marketing Analytics and Operations Analytics.
- Master of Management – Specializations in Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurship.
- Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications.
According to Global University Systems Canada, the new university is expected to generate $291 million in GDP, $194 million in labour income, and $23 million in government tax revenue.
Not only will it see an economical benefit, but its student students will also find a new way of learning. Thanks to its flexible model, it allows students more ways to study as its vision is to allow every academic program to be offered in three formats: face-to-face, online, and hybrid.
This will allow students to work and study in a way that suits their personal circumstances.
This exciting new institution is expected to open in 2024.
