Uber revealed the best and worst cities in US for rider scores & Seattle made the list

The good old Uber rating… that mythical number that determines whether drivers will be flocking to you or you’ll spend an extra ten minutes waiting for someone to show up. Well, you might find some solace in seeing the best and worst cities in the US for Uber rider scores especially because Seattle made one of the lists.

Released today by the company, the list is part of new access to rider scores on Uber, which will (finally) let you see the ratings breakdown from your trips. Got a sneaky suspicion that you weren’t the best behaved rider on that late night trip? Well, it could be the reason you’ve got a couple of 1-star reviews.

Now, beyond seeing your own ratings breakdown, Uber also revealed a list of the cities across the nation with both the highest and lowest average driver scores. Sadly, they didn’t include the actual average rating, but it’s still fun to see. If you look at lowest average rider rating you’ll notice a familiar name.

Highest average rider rating:

  1. San Antonio
  2. St. Louis
  3. Nashville
  4. Salt Lake City
  5. Kansas City

Lowest average rider rating:

  1. New York
  2. Seattle
  3. Washington, D.C.
  4. Boston
  5. Minneapolis-St. Paul

Considering that we have the “Seattle freeze,” it kind of makes sense that our city has one of the lowest average rider ratings. That being said, the reason for the rankings are up to speculation. Is it riders, or drivers that are nicer in the cities with the highest average rider rating? We have no idea, but in the case of Seattle we’d feel pretty confident saying the drivers are nicer than the passengers.

Don’t forget, it doesn’t hurt to smile.
