How is your happiness stacking up against the rest of the world? Well, according to a new wellbeing index, if you’re in Toronto or Montreal, you’re living in some of the happiest cities in the world.
The brand new City Wellbeing Index provided by estate agent giant Knight Frank has Montreal ranking 9th and Toronto ranking 13th overall. This ranking, however, includes more than just happiness. Let’s see how they got there!
This index takes into account eight different measures to come up with its final rankings. These are sunshine per year, green space in each city, work-life balance, crime, traffic congestion, quality of healthcare, happiness, and governance.
Interestingly enough, Toronto and Montreal both tied for 6th on the happiness index. But, they were both pretty low on green space, and middle of the pack on healthcare.
Wait, middle of the pack!? Well, folks, we are up against notoriously happy & healthy places like Vienna, Zurich, Stockholm, Oslo, etc. so we shouldn’t feel too bad.
