Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store to open its first US location near Seattle & is hiring for over 300 jobs

Washington and Seattle as a whole are full of amazing Asian grocery stores from bigger names like Uwajimaya to smaller, family-owned and operated shops. Now the Seattle area is about to get a big addition, Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store, T&T. Here’s when and where the chain is opening its first US location.

T&T Supermarkets, which is marking 30 years as Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store, announced that it will be opening a store in Bellevue, Washington, in the Marketplace at Factoria. With 76,000 square feet, it will be the largest Asian supermarket in the state and a flagship store for T&T. And the company also states that it will be hiring for over 300 jobs.

“We know the love for T&T transcends borders. It’s not unusual to see U.S. license plates in the parking lots of our British Columbia stores, with hundreds of customers regularly making the drive for our food,” said Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarkets. “After 30 successful years in Canada, we couldn’t be more excited to bring our unique offering closer to home for customers in the United States.”

The new location will feature a “sushi counter, hot food bar, noodle station, and in-store kitchen and bakery for freshly prepared delicacies like steam buns and pork belly bao, as well as Asian pastries and cakes.” Customers will also be able to find more than 300 of T&T’s private-label products, some of which include green onion pancakes, Korean kalbi marinade, juicy pork dumplings, and seaweed snacks.

The company confirmed the new Seattle T&T store will open Summer of 2024. Ahead of that, T&T plans to hold its first job fair this summer for “supervisors and above positions.” To reserve a spot for career day, applicants can register online.
As well, the grocery store states that it will be opening a new regional office in the greater Los Angeles area, and is also hiring for office positions there. Those can be found here.
