Resonance Consultancy has released its 2023 findings for America’s best cities in 2023. As you might have guessed, Seattle made the cut, actually coming in a bit higher than you might expect. Here’s where our city sits among America’s best.
Resonance Consultancy’s rankings are determined by analyzing cities for a wide range of factors that have historically shown “positive correlations with attracting employment, investment, and/or visitors.”
Their six core categories include place, product, programming, people, prosperity, and promotion.

These are the top 10 best cities in America in 2023:
- New York, New York
- Chicago, Illinois
- Los Angeles, California
- San Francisco, California
- Washington D.C.
- Miami, Florida
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Seattle, Washington
- Houston, Texas
- San Jose, California
Seattle came in 8th overall, doing well in cost of living adjusted earnings (#3) and shopping (#6). Resonance summed up our city with the following statement, “America’s growing tech hub is playing the long game, focusing on inclusive prosperity and urban vibrancy to win the war for talent.”
Other shout-outs included SeaTac (SEA) Airport, Amazon, Starbucks, Zillow, new construction, and growth in the forms of hotels, restaurants, and more. All in all, Resonance gave our city kudos for being self-reliant and finding ways to build back strong post-pandemic.
