Get into cycling these past few years? You’re not alone, and maybe you’re thinking it’s time to test yourself a little bit. While marathons are a dime a dozen, cycling events are few and far between. So, hearing about Tour de France hosting a bike in Edmonton this summer definitely piqued our interest.

Turns out, L’Etape by Tour de France is a global series that allows fans and hardcore riders alike the chance to experience at least one version of the iconic race. Participating countries for L’Etape include Thailand, Australia, Portugal… and now, Canada is getting in on the mix.

Because Edmonton is the only city in the country to be joining in on the month. Later this month, amateur cyclists ranging from beginner to experts will be able to join in for a whole day of fun. Ranging from family-friendly options to 160 kilometre-long races, you’ll enjoy a route created by ‘Tour de France’ experts starting in Edmonton and heading west. And yes, that’s pretty much the average length of a single stage in the Tour de France, which is a fun look at just how hard the competition is.

L’Etape by Tour de France will be coming to Edmonton later this summer, on August 14th. If this sounds like the summer challenge you’ve been looking for, know that registration is already open!
