Toronto’s rooftop skating rink with skyline views is reopening next week

Another season of skating in Toronto’s skies is about to begin. The popular Sky Skate rooftop rink at The Porch is opening up at the start of December and it’s one of the most picturesque spots in town for gliding under the stars.

The synthetic rink is located right in the heart of downtown, so you’ll be skating under the glow of twinkling lights, city buildings and the majestic CN Tower.

You can reserve your skate ahead of time right now, which costs $14.95 per person for one hour. You can rent a pair of skates and a helmet on-site for an additional cost. By the way, helmets are mandatory, so if you don’t have your own, be prepared to rent one.

There are heaters all around the rink to make your skate a bit more comfortable, but you’ll definitely still want to dress for a typical Canadian winter night. You’ll also be able to warm up with a drink at the bar, which you can sip on once you’ve stepped off the rink for the evening.

All ages are welcome to come skate, but on Friday and Saturday nights after 7 p.m., it’s open to a 19+ crowd only. And if you have a special occasion coming up, you can book out the rink for your event or choose from one of the party packages.

There are so many picturesque rinks opening up in Toronto in the coming days, including the skating area outside of Union Station, the popular Nathan Philips Square rink, and the brand new skating loop at the Harbourfront Centre.

If you’re up for a bit of a road trip, you’ll soon be able to head up to cottage country for a torchlit skating trail experience in the woods.

Now, all that’s left to do is to get your skates sharpened and hit the ice!
