We’ll say cheers to any excuse to sip cocktails all week long, and it looks like we’re about to have the perfect opportunity. Negroni Week is kicking off in Toronto this coming Monday, September 13th, and bars and restaurants all over the city are serving up the tasty Campari-based cocktail for a good cause.

All week long, you’ll have the opportunity to hop around and taste different takes on the Negroni, with a portion of the sales going to one of Negroni Week’s charity partners.

There are charity partners for everything imaginable, from COVID-19 relief to food insecurity to homelessness and animal welfare, so you’ll be tipping back your glass for a good cause.

And by the way, this event is kind of a big deal. Negroni Week takes place in over 12,000 cities worldwide, raising a collective $3 million for charitable causes.

There are 17 spots participating in Negroni Week around Toronto, including Bar Poet, The Oxley, Melrose on Adelaide, Eataly, Marben Restaurant, and more. Registration is still open for more bars and restaurants to sign up. You can see a complete list of them here.

A classic Negroni is made with gin, vermouth rosso, Campari, and an orange peel for garnish. It’s supposedly an apéritif, best enjoyed before a meal. So if you’re going to Eataly or Marben, you’ll want to bring your appetite and order dinner to get the full experience.

Speaking of food, this isn’t the only city-wide event going on in the city this month. Le Burger Week is still going strong, with places all over competing for the title of “best burger in the city.” You can see a full list of Toronto’s participating Le Burger Week restaurants here.
