Although you might not find an orchard within the city, you definitely don’t have to go far.

DOWNEY’S FARM

It’s not just pumpkins this place has mastered! Stop by here for delicious apple picking all autumn long. There’s no entry fee or reservation required, so they’re perfect for a spur-of-the-moment fall afternoon. Right now their Macintosh, Cortland, and Gala batches are at their prime.

CHUDLEIGH’S FARM

Come for the apples but stay for all the other amazing fall activities this place has got going on. You can definitely make a whole day out of a trip to Chudlegih’s Farm. Once you’ve picked your apples, explore the farm grounds for a ton of play areas (for the little ones), farm animals, and nature trails. It’s fun for the whole family!

APPLEWOOD FARM

This gorgeous farm has been a staple in Stouffville for the past fifty years. Folks from all over stop by for all the incredible things it’s got to offer. This year, head to Applewood to indulge in their 32 acres of apple crops. Right now, their Ginger Golds, Royal Galas, Macintoshes, Honey Crisps, and Cortlands are all in season. Yum!

DIXIE ORCHARDS

This great location has hazelnut groves and pumpkin patches along with their sprawling apple orchards. You can access all of it for a tiny entry fee of $3/person. Right now, Empire apples are available for pick-your-own, while Honeycrisp, Gala, and Gingergold can be purchased pre-picked from the market. If you do plan to visit this spot, make sure you make a reservation ahead of time.

ALBION ORCHARDS

This beautiful spot was recently featured in Chatelaine Magazine as one of the top four apple orchards in the country. So, ya know, it’s a pretty great location. They’ve got a ton of apple varieties available for picking right now. Plus, an online guide on each type to make your experience a little easier.

BIG R’ APPLE FARM

You don’t have to go far to get to this amazing apple picking spot. Big R’ Apple Farm has been operating in Brampton for the past 40 years. They’re open for U-pick every Saturday through Monday, with delicious Royal Galas, Ginger Golds, Macintoshes, and Paula Red Apples available.
