If you’ve stepped outside this morning, it may feel slightly warmer than it’s been this week. There’s no snow, and it’s not feeling like -30°C. But, Toronto is actually under a special weather statement today.
According to Environment Canada, the statement, which was issued on Wednesday morning, says that roads and sidewalks may get icy and slippery today.
“Above freezing temperatures have spread across southern Ontario this morning and highs today are expected to be in the low to mid single digits. Late this afternoon, a cold front will push through the region which will cause temperatures to abruptly drop below freezing in time for the evening commute,” it says.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery.”
