Start sharpening those skates because Toronto’s outdoor ice skating rinks are opening for the season this weekend.
Though our weather has been a bit wonky these last few weeks, the City is optimistic that temperatures will be right for the opening of ice rinks.
The outdoor artificial ice rinks start to open for the season on Nov. 29, 2025. “Outdoor artificial ice rinks typically open in late November and close for the season in March,” shares the City.
So you have plenty of time to enjoy the rinks even after the holidays. Keep in mind that although the rollout begins this weekend, not all 50 rinks will open at once. Check the City’s website to find out whether your neighbourhood rink is on the list for opening weekend.
Have fun out there, Toronto! Whether you’re perfecting your spins or wibbling through your first glide, skating season is officially on.
