Here’s some news you can chew! It’s been quite the year for Toronto restaurants and its bustling food scene – so much so that over 30 restos have been recognized once again in a new ranking. OpenTable has released its annual list of top 100 restaurants in Canada for 2022 and honestly we’re not surprised we have to most rated in the country.

After analyzing more than one million reviews left by OpenTable diners, the online reservation system ranked restaurants across the country, including a diverse selection of the Canadian culinary scene. From Michelin-star restaurants to low-key, hidden gems, 48 of the 100 restaurants listed are located in Ontario. And 31 of them are in Toronto!

“We’re seeing a strong interest in a variety of dining establishments and experiences this year, and strong representation from traditional continental to diverse international cuisines,” said Matt Davis, Country Director, OpenTable Canada. “This diner-generated reference guide stands apart from others because it’s a reflection of diners’ most beloved restaurants across the country. Only those who book via OpenTable and dine are able to leave a review.”

OpenTable’s list reflects reviews collected between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022. According to the platform, all “restaurants with a minimum overall rating and number of qualifying reviews” were added for consideration. The qualifying restaurants were sorted and given a total score based on overall diner rating, user klout, the total number of reviews, and regional overall rating.
