Toronto restaurants offering special takeout feasts for Lunar New Year

The Year of the Tiger is almost here and in celebration, Toronto restaurants are serving up special takeout menus for Lunar New Year. From tasty traditional feasts to afternoon high tea with a twist, you’ll want to grab a friend or two to dig into these mouthwatering options. No Chinese New Year is complete without delicious food and if you want to treat yourself to something special, these options are worth checking out.

Here are some of the best Lunar New Year takeout options in Toronto for 2022.

Momofuku Noodle Bar

Momofuku is offering a special celebratory takeout feast for the Year of the Tiger. Dine on Smoked Duck Ssäm sourced locally from an Ontario purveyor, plus mouthwatering crispy skin breast, bibb lettuce, Momofuku Toronto house kimchi, and multigrain rice.

You can pick up your order from the restaurant on University Ave, or have it delivered via Chefdrop. If you’re picking up, you can also order from the selection of expertly paired wines and handcrafted cocktails to go with your meal.

Hong Shing

Hong Shing’s set menu for Lunar New Year is perfect for you and two or three friends. You’ll be stuffed full by the end of this epic feast, which includes crab claws, ginger scallion fried cod, garlic beef tenderloin, prosperity lobster, and golden fried rice. You can add the Red Pocket cocktail to your meal to make it extra special.

Holts Café

In the mood for something a little different this Lunar New Year? Holts Café is offering high tea at both of its Toronto locations with a delightful menu of savoury and sweet treats crafted by Holts’ esteemed chefs.

The menu items are classic high tea favourites with an Asian twist, like scones and toppings, bbq duck, milk cake, and egg tart paired with Sloane fine teas, made by a female-owned Canadian brand.
