It’s back! After two years of not having fireworks over the Victoria Day long weekend, the City of Toronto is bringing back the tradition at Ashbridges Bay Park.

According to the City of Toronto, the 2022 Victoria Day fireworks celebration will take place on Monday, May 23 in the evening.

Expect the display to be begin at 10 pm and will last 13 minutes. This will be the first public in-person fireworks display on Victoria Day in Toronto since 2019.

“It is wonderful to see the return of the spectacular public fireworks display on Victoria Day at Ashbridges Bay. Please be safe this long weekend and I encourage everyone to enjoy the many events planned throughout Toronto,” said Mayor John Tory in a statement.

It is expected to be busy so attendees are encouraged to leave personal vehicles at home and take public transit or Bike Share.

And for those taking TTC, there’s good news.

“Beginning at noon, the TTC will be increasing service on the 22 Coxwell, 92 Woodbine and 501 Queen routes to accommodate those planning to watch the fireworks display from Ashbridges Bay Park,” states the city. “Dedicated shuttle buses will also operate from Woodbine and Coxwell stations.”

Ashbridges Bay Park is at 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E.

And the city also says that the fireworks display is weather dependent.
