One of Toronto’s most popular neighborhoods is bringing back its beloved tree lighting ceremony for the holidays and a free outdoor concert.

Kick off the holidays with the exciting return of Holiday Magic on November 26. The Bloor-Yorkville BIA welcomes all to enjoy the Christmas spirit with its tree lighting ceremony taking place on Cumberland Street and at the Village of Yorkville Park.

The event will be hosted by Traci Melchor and includes a live performance from Grammy and JUNO award-winning Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk. Toronto-based musician Jeremie Albino will kick off performances before Kreviazuk takes the stage and sings hit singles from her holiday album.

The annual “Flick the Switch” Lighting Ceremony with the event will see over 130 trees shine bright throughout the season.

During the holidays, up until December 31, those who visit Yorkville will see the neighbourhood embrace the holiday spirit with strolling carolers dressed in Victorian-era costumes on select weekends in December, along with festive green and red-lit Urban Campfire Benches on Bloor street.

Although it’s October, the holiday season is just around the corner and before we know it, the city will transform into a winter wonderland. Mark your calendars because this is an event you won’t want to miss.
