Now that we’ve officially entered the new year, it’s time to look back at some of 2023’s biggest highlights, including the baby names that topped the charts across BC. While plenty dream of giving their child a unique name, others may prefer to take a more traditional route. Regardless, the list of the most popular names in BC has a handful of new additions and surprises in addition to longstanding names.
According to the Ministry of Health, the top 10 baby names in the province stayed fairly consistent with last year’s list for Canada. So without further ado, here are the ‘most chosen’ names in BC for 2023.
Topping the list for ‘male’ names are Noah, Oliver, Theodore, Liam, and Jack – in that order.
In terms of the top ‘female’ names, Olivia, Emma, Sophia, Charlotte, and Isla take the cake.
