Looking for some last-minute fun this weekend? We’ll admit that the Together Again Concert Series coming to Edmonton is a frontrunner. What’s more, this year’s lineup is filled to the brim with some nostalgic names stretching through decades of music.

Things kick off Friday, August 19th with some more modern names, as both Paul Brandt and Johnny Reid are set to perform. So, you’ll get to ease into the weekend with a little country music, before diving into (what we’ll call) the main attractions.

Seriously, the rest of the weekend is like a who’s who of major names over the last few decades. Saturday will see names like Burton Cummings (of The Guess Who), Kim Mitchell (“Go for Soda”) and Chilliwack (“My Girl”). So, basically a who’s-who of Canadian talent in the 70s and 80s.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s lineup is a little more modern. You’ve got The Barenaked Ladies as a frontrunner, featuring Sam Roberts Band as a ‘very special guest’. Alongside them, there’s 54-50 (“Ocean Pearl”) in the mix as well.

Is it the most modern lineup we’ve seen this summer? We’ll be honest and say no. However, those looking for a healthy dose of Canadian music nostalgia should find this right up their alley!
