Fun isn’t cancelled, folks! Edmonton’s usual events calendar may still be a little battered and bruised, but a new outdoor Summer Fun Midway is coming to the Edmonton EXPO Centre this month, and things are looking pretty exciting.

From July 23 to August 1, Edmontonians will get the chance to hit up plenty of midway fun that we’ve missed out on for two years running. From games and rides to live shows and tons of food, here’s what to expect at the brand new Summer Fun Midway this year.

The Rides

The tentative Summer Fun Midway rides list features twenty-three tried and true favourites for attendees of all ages. From The Zipper to The Polar Express, there is no doubt you’ll be able to find something to peak your adrenaline. The full list of scheduled rides are right here, but this may change before the event gets up and running.

The Games & Entertainment

While they haven’t released a list, you can expect plenty of your Midway favourites to be set up at this year’s event. Despite this being an outdoor-only event, physical distancing measures and consistent sanitation by midway staff are sure to be enforced.

For entertainment, Summer Fun Midway has teased The President’s Choice Super Dogs as one of the many shows you’ll be able to check out. And even though that’s all we know thus far, it’s a dang cute one that you won’t want to miss.

Food

Corn dog stand

Our favourite part of just about any midway experience is the outrageous food we can indulge in guilt-free. From mini donuts and pizza to funnel cakes, corn dogs and ice cream, Summer Fun Midway is going to have plenty of grub.

And of course, this is a family-friendly event, which means that Summer Midway has plenty of areas and activities designed specifically for kids.

Tickets went on sale on July 12th, and you can grab yours right here.
