Through snow and fog, Calgarians have had to wither the beginning of March in the cold – but it’s not all bad. That Alberta brand chill has inspired a new ‘destination’ cocktail bar where the only thing below 0° are the drinks! This spring, check out the Tipsy Parrot Rum Shack in Calgary, a beachy popup at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel.
From the bright, elaborate decor and the loud uppidy beats to the Palliser’s world-class service, this tropical escape provides a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Serving boozy sips like the Jack Sparrow Sour, Banana Old Fashion and their Island Splash (which comes in an adorable Parrot glass), the menu here may be small, but it’s mighty.

For lightweights like us, they also offer tasty Caribbean bites like jerk cauliflower, Jamaican patties, charred jerk wings and shrimp ceviche In addition to their rum-friendly cocktails – because we should all know better by now that drinking on an empty stomach is a 1/10 idea.
If you’d like to check it out, The Tipsy Parrot will be open between Tuesdays to Saturdays, 5 pm until 10 pm.
