Tim Hortons new culinary lead has worked on Handmaid’s Tale & even cooked for the Queen

While we can’t predict what this year will bring in terms of vaccinations, concerts, and gatherings, we can say as a matter of fact, that no matter your budget you’ll be able to dine like royalty in 2021. According to a recent press release, the Canadian coffee giant Tim Hortons announced that world-renowned chef Tallis Voakes will join their team in 2021!

Voakes is a food genius who has cooked for celebrities, TV shows, 5-star restaurants, and even Queen Elizabeth.

Since graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, this dynamite chef has worked alongside industry leaders like Nobu Matsuhisa and Jason Atherton, and at Michelin star establishments including Gordon Ramsay’s Maze.

Before being asked to lead the Tim Hortons culinary team, he even worked on the set of dystopian tragedy, The Handmaids Tale as their food stylist – a position that we’re always surprised actually exists outside of our hopes and dreams.

Now, before you get nervous that their menu might go from soccer mom to fine dining overnight, it’s important to note that Voakes has no intention of changing anything that we’ve come to love about the fast-food franchise.

“There are many things that are already awesome and you don’t mess with a good thing,” he said. Really, he only plans on giving those less popular menu items a bit of an ‘oomph’ and honestly, we’re down to clown! That sounds like a great idea.

We’re not sure about you guys, but we’re pretty stoked to see what he does with the iconic Tim Hortons menu. Minor changes never hurt anyone, right? Right! In closing, we encourage Voakes to hit us with his best shot. Our stomachs are ready and willing, so bring it! Here’s to a tasty year!
