The highly anticipated Western saloon & bar is FINALLY opening on 17th Ave

Whiskey Rose Saloon is thrilled to open to the public TODAY at 4PM PM on 17th Ave, in the heart of Calgary’s Red Mile. Sitting at 1012 17 Ave SW, this Nashville meets western saloon & bar will be bringing 10,000 square feet of great eats, cold drinks, live music, and boot-stomping fun to town. 

& for the first time ever, a Nashville meets western saloon & bar is coming to the heart of 17th Ave.

As you enter Whiskey Rose Saloon, you’ll be greeted by western hospitality and a classic Albertan atmosphere. Across a two-level open-concept saloon, you’ll find a neon country aesthetic and live music, for Calgary’s very own feel of Nashville’s Broadway. We’re not sure about you, but we can’t wait for the first western bar to be hitting the Red Mile. On the weekdays, guests can kick back on the main level with food, drinks, and a saloon-style setting you can’t find anywhere else in town. 

On weekends, unwind on the upper level, where live music, a dance floor and two bars are ready to host even the wildest nights. With a little bit of country, a little rock and roll, the occasional power ballad for us all to sing along to (from Britney to Whitney) and a whole lot of classic Calgary flair, Whiskey Rose Saloon will be a welcome addition not only to 17th Ave, but to all of our weekend plans. 

And if country and rock aren’t your thing, don’t you worry. Above everything else, Whiskey Rose Saloon is a place to celebrate. Whether it’s celebrating each other, our friends and loved ones or our beautiful city, Whiskey Rose Saloon is the place to do it. 

With a grassroots drink menu, this western saloon & bar will be sticking to simplicity in the best way, offering up a selection of crafted cocktails, curated bourbons and a list of local beer & wine. 

The food menu will feature Western-inspired fare unlike Calgary has seen before. From Fried Bologna Sandwiches (for only $6 btw after 10PM), to Shrimp Boils and Beer Can Chicken, we guarantee there’s something for everyone at Whiskey Rose. And despite the menu’s Southern inspiration, Whiskey Rose is proudly sourcing its ingredients from local Alberta producers and farmers to highlight the food of our region. 

An unapologetically Calgarian bar, inspired by our Nashville sisters to the south, Whiskey Rose Saloon is a bar by Calgarians, for Calgarians. It’s for the everybodys and the nobodys alike. It’s a place to come together, to knock back a bourbon (or three), and to enjoy the best that our city has to offer.
