One southern Ontario town is about to be home to Canada’s very first state-of-the-art varsity esports facility. The massive project at St. Clair College is set to be the largest publicly accessible facility of its kind in the entire country!

So, how large is the largest esports facility in Canada set to be? We’re glad you asked. This new development is slated to come in at a whopping 15,000 square feet.

Within all that space, it’s set to feature 64 gaming PCs, dedicated training facilities for varsity teams, a 6v6 competition stage, esports classroom featuring a broadcast studio and all the latest industry equipment, 3 dedicated VR spaces connected to the broadcast studio, 5 separate soundproof streaming rooms, and a console gaming lounge with 8 stations for drop-in and play. Wowza! That’s quite the facility.

All of this is under construction as we speak. The project is said to be wrapping up as early as January 2022 and will make way for St Clair’s esports teams to compete across 7 titles in the fall. Those titles include League of Legends, Overwatch, Valorant, Fortnite, Rocket League, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six: Siege. Yes, there’s really are varsity teams for video games. The more ya know!

It’s all set to go down at the Windsor, Ontario campus of St Clair College. It’s part of a massive $23 million expansion to the school’s campus. One that is sure to draw in crowds.
