This Niagara winery’s ice room is literally the chillest place to enjoy sips

It’s hard to say no to a good winery tour, especially one that’s perfectly wintery. Peller Estates Winery in Niagara Wine Country has a vine-to-cellar tour that will immerse you in everything the world-class winery has to offer. The coolest part about it? A whole ice room.

The tour begins very leisurely, with a glass of sparkling wine on the patio. Then you’ll be on your way to the Estate vineyard to learn all about the unique growing region that is the Niagara Escarpment. You’ll get to explore the vineyard and see just how the grapes are grown to create that delicious wine.

Afterward, things start to get a little chillier, you’ll head into the underground barrel cellar where you’ll get to enjoy another tasting of wines among 300 wine barrels. That’s just the beginning though because next, you’ll get to discover Niagara’s only igloo-like lounge.

It’s the 10Below Icewine Lounge, made out of a mammoth 13,607 kilos of ice which is kept at a frosty 10º below zero. This happens to be the ideal temperature for harvesting Icewine grapes and of course, you’ll get to sample some of that liquid gold. So if you’ve ever dreamed of sipping Icewine in your own ice cave, it looks like this wine tour is already in your plans.

Luckily you don’t have to worry about being absolutely frozen because you’ll get to end your tour in the winery boutique for a truly unforgettable winery experience from start to finish. If you’d like to book your own experience you can click below. Enjoy!
